Laminate glue Empty Laminate glue

Post by mutleychops Thu Jun 08, 2023 5:32 pm

Need to stick some laminate that has come away around the cupboard openings in my Trident.  I've tried super glue but not very succesful.  Anyone done anything similar and can recommend a product please?

Laminates, like Formica, we're always glued with a contact adhesive such as Evo Stick contact.
It'll have to be applied to both sides so they'll need to be kept apart till the glue "dries"

UHU worked well for me but have also used 2 part epoxy but that's a bit thick to spread.

PVA adhesive will work well if you can apply plenty of pressure to the surface by means of cramps or whatever, and if you can leave it cramped up for 24 hours. Much easier since you have time to work and don’t have to hold the surfaces apart, just apply the glue to one or both surfaces, push together and cramp up. Excess can be wiped off with a damp rag. Eva Stik woodworkers adhesive in the blue (waterproof) bottles can be bought from most DIY stores. Worth a try!

Thank you all for the suggestions.  Trip to the DIY store to pick up some glue & give it a try.  Thanks again.
