Ravenna on Ford Transit: Tyre Pressures
I've just bought a 2001 build year Ravenna on the Ford Transit base.
I'm slightly surprised that no one will tell me the correct tyre pressures!
The As handbook says, "Ask Ford"
The Ford handbook is silent
The Haynes guide says, "Consult the handbook, or the plate on the driver's door frame"
(There is no plate on the door frame)
the tyres are 215/75 R16C . 113/111R
Are there any Ravenna owners out there who know the answer? Grateful for their advice.

If you go to the home page and go down the list of sections you will find 'members factsheets' where you will find a publication by Tyresafe. At the end of this you will find a chart but you will need your axle weights.
Also please take a minute to introduce yourself here..

Complicated, isn't it.
So reading that article, there is no single "right" tyre pressure. It depends critically on loading.
Nevertheless, I'd be grateful if experienced owners could indicate ball park figures for touring, eg with two or with three persons and "typical" loads.

Surprised no one has actually given you a reply in actual pressure. The Rienza on the Transit chassis which will be the same as yours and same size tyres is 65 front and 69 rear. You could vary that down a bit to 60 front and 65 rear. I noticed that during last service at BT workshops they took them to the lower figure, and they service transits all the time.

Re: Ravenna on Ford Transit: Tyre Pressures
I run our Mk7 Tranny at the Pressures Bob suggests as they are on the pillar plate (there will be one somewhere on your van pressure in bars)
Paul suggests looking at tyre manufacturers info which is a good call cos they look at loadings not vehicles.
If you dont have a handbook go on either the Transit owners forum or FordEtis web site where you will be able to find data relating to your van

Thanks for that as well. (There really isn't a plate.) I've tracked down a friendly weighbridge, so I'll get some accurate weights to relate to the tyre loading tables.

Correction
Sorry Silverswan, I've misinformed you about the pressures .... I was doing it from memory when I replied to the post.
The pressures should be 43.5lb/sq/in (3 bar) for the front and 69.6lb/sq/in (4.8bar) for the rear, fully loaded.
Max for front axle is 1600kg and 2300kg for rear.
I just checked the plate on the door pillar and noticed my earlier mistake. The above pressures should give you a good starting point.
sorry for the confusion Bob

Thanks, Bob.
That corresponds pretty nearly to how the previous owner had them when I acquired it.

Still waiting for an answer to Silverswan's question I was going to ask myself but he got in there first.
