Nuevo EK repair in USA?
We're planning a big road trip to the USA early next year and wanted to take our 2008 Nuevo EK with us. We've figured out how to ship it over and get insurance. Big question now is whether Peugeot Boxer and / or autosleeper parts would be available over there if ever something breaks down? Could anyone suggest a list of essential spares that we would want to take with us? Is it possible to buy roadside assistance in the US for a UK Motorhome? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You might get more of a response if you follow the forum etiquette. See https://www.autosleeper-ownersforum.com/t541-new-members-read-before-saying-hello
I would expect it to be a minefield, there are all sorts of US vehicle regs that imported vehicles are subject to, including lighting and emissions. One positive is that the Boxer exists in the US as the Dodge Ram Promaster, though they are nearly all petrol versions.
US police in their many forms will take more than a passing interest in you as you’ll be a novelty … and they don’t tend to do novelties, especially in remote areas. Therefore don’t put a foot wrong and if you do get pulled over keep your hands on view and speak with a well-annunciated Home Counties accent. And don’t expect them to have a sense of humour!

I assume you have your own reasons for deciding against the simpler option of hiring an RV in the US.
Be aware that even if the same vehicle is sold in the US, many of the parts will be slightly different to the UK version - see also Tim's post above.
As for the availability of AS parts, I doubt it but a call to AS would give you the answer. How about availability of third party spares such as Dometic, Thetford, Truma, have you considered that aspect?

Go to youtube, in search put Tread the Globe and Eva zu Beck, both doing USA at present with UK origin vehicles, if you subscribe to both then you can go to lots of previous videos.
Tread aren't now going to Oz as near impossible to get the truck clean enough to meet their import requirements, so going to Japan next instead.
Fiat Ducato parts have proved impossible in USA, they get friends for Turkey to DHL them....
Can be done, and I'd like to as, at least, a dream....

Re: Nuevo EK repair in USA?
Really appreciate all the informative responses and links. My apologies also for not following the introductory forum etiquette before posting.
We did consider rentng an RV but the cost quoted was quite staggering for a 6 month trip. We looked at buying and selling one while over there but it seems very complicated. Not only do you waste a fair bit of time buying and selling, it can get very costly if you cant crack a good sale before your visa expires. I wont even go into the complexities of registering the vehicle and getting US based insurance if you're not a resident.
Taking our own van across the ocean isnt as big a minefield as you may expect. The German company Seabridge specialises in Roll on, Roll off sea shipping from Liverpool or Southampton to 3 North American ports (1-2 weeks transit tme). It's not cheap (approx £2K each way) but they told us tourists can use their own motorhome for 12 months as is (no technical adjustments necessary and no restrictions for right hand drive vehicles).
You can also load it up with all the stuff you'll need for the trip with relatively few limitations. They handle all the customs stuff for you so it seems 'relatively' simple. Insurance is not cheap of course but it's still apparently possible to get full coverage on a UK motorhome.
We'll obviously make sure we have a full service done before setting off and will bring a few key spares with us. Fingers crossed we wont need them nor a DHL but we'll still plan for the worse and hope for the best. Thanks Harry for the very useful link. We'll check out the You Tube videos too.
Thanks again to all.

I know two people who have taken their motorhome across the pond, one went to the east coast, Canada to Alaska in the summer. The other on a six month trip around u,s. Both had a great time, and no police agro. They both flew out to meet the boat, but i think now you can go with vehicles as passengers.
