WATER PUMP
Hi all, can anyone help with my new problem, on my A/S Bourton.
The water pump some times keeps running for a long time after you shut a tap, it happens on hot or cold taps.
Another time it stops running straight away. I am wondering if it is the pressure switch.
Can anyone help.

A big thank you to gef, I did as instructed and it appears to have solved the problem.WANDERING DAVE wrote:Thanks for that I will give it a go tomorrow.gef wrote:Sounds like pressure switch try 2 clicks anti clockwise

Re: WATER PUMP
Pressure switch can be sensitive to voltage and if you find it behaves differently on 12v to 240v then adjust it to midway between the different positions needed for each voltage. You may get the odd blip but saves altering each time you change.

Re: WATER PUMP
Just a further note, my water pump used to have a mind of its own, on site it would be fine for days and then without reason would stay on and need adjustment of the pressure switch. A few days later it would need adjustment again back to where it was. This went on for a year or so until I changed the pressure switch to a new identical one. It now works better than it did from new, I’ve since never had to touch it in nearly two years. So if it’s a constant source of attention I’d suggest replacing the switch.

Re: WATER PUMP
Toffee is correct but for some, me included, it's better to replace the pressure switch/NRV and submersible Whale pump with a Shurflo diaphragm pump which doesn't have this problem. Part of the problem with the Whale system is it's very sensitive to voltage and to small pressure changes. The pump is also a pig to replace if it goes u/s as you have to drop the freshwater tank. Mine went u/s after 4 days!

Re: WATER PUMP
Said this many times it is easy to change the in tank pump, clean the tank and level sender's if you fit a Henderson hatch. They are cheap and should be a standard fitting.Caraman wrote:Toffee is correct but for some, me included, it's better to replace the pressure switch/NRV and submersible Whale pump with a Shurflo diaphragm pump which doesn't have this problem. Have a picture please of your hatch, I bought a couple, but found them too large for the tanks.groundhog wrote:Said this many times it is easy to change the in tank pump, clean the tank and level sender's if you fit a Henderson hatch. It is a TCL4 though of course your tank may be different to mine. I have a picture somewhere but it is fitted to the side of the tank.
