Garmin Nuvi 2595 LMT
Hi All,
Our old Garmin Nuvi 5000 (Lorry version) has given up the ghost
So having done a bit of research, decided to order a Garmin Nuvi 2595 LMT (Free lifetime Maps & Traffic)
I know there are “Specials” for Motorhomes but at a price …. I think this one should be fine for us in “Clubby”
Being OAP’s …… violins playing ..… we were naturally looking for a good deal.
Argos etc want £209-99 …….
Pixmania are doing them for £155-00 inc P&P ….. not much of a “Brainer” (or Brian-er ) was it ??
Can’t wait to try out my Cockney accent with the Voice command part
Brian

Got one last week Brian, from Amazon £154. something(?). If your quick, you can claim £30 cashback from Garmin

It recognises my Lancashire accent but does struggle with some words "Lancaster" and "Chorley" gave it problems but it will learn (I hope)

Thanks for the info Frank
Will have a go at the “Cashback” when mine arrives.
I notice, they say Up to £30 Cashback …… Did our particular one qualify for the Max amount ??
Regards,
Brian

Hi Brian,
Just had an email from Garmin to say that my cashback claim has been approved and the money will be in my bank account within 28 days.
So! £124 for a new satnav - not bad Eh!

Unfortunately I couldn’t get the £30-00 cashback, as “Pixmania” are not on Garmin’s retailer list.

Re: Garmin Nuvi 2595 LMT
Apart from the disappointment with the £30 Brian, what do you think of it?
Tried the "Voice Command" yet? and does it recognise what you say? I found that it recognises all the "standard" commands OK like "navigate" "up" "down" "phone" etc. but it struggles with my Lancastrian pronunciations of some towns - "Chorley" got it rattled for some reason
The hands free telephoning is good - I can do my E.T. bit and say "Phone Home" and it does!

Re: Garmin Nuvi 2595 LMT
Hi Frank,
Very happy with it’s all-round performance ……
Finds the Sats very fast (so much better than my old Garmin 5000)
The advanced junction ½ pic is very handy.
Have only used the Voice Command part for my favourites so far, and has understood me perfik
All in all a very good product and with the free updates, amazing value.
Sticking my neck out and recommending it our members ……
BUT if you want the cashback deal (from an accepted retailer) …. Get your finger out, as it ends soon !!

Went into Poundland and got a black Nintendo DS case , fits the Sat nav perfectly , better than paying £10+ for a case, lol Gary

Don't have any experience of Garmin units myself but was recently reading a review of the Garmin Nuvi 2595 LMT online and they rated it as the best sub £200 sat nav around.
