VW T5 Trident
Hello again everyone!
More teething problems...
The passenger front door electrics aren't working and I'm trying to find a new Passenger Side Front Door Module, part 7H2959801ALFD... Anyone know where I can get one please as VW don't supply them anymore...
My van also has aftermarket cab Aircon which seems to be an Eberspaecher system possibly a Delphi Diavia fitted by the original supplying dealer. I need a new condenser and trying to identify the part number.... Anyone got any idea please?!
Thank you again!
Michael

Re: VW T5 Trident
One of the things you have to be careful about with the door control modules is that there is a master/slave relationship between the driver's control module and the one on the passenger side, and it's not unusual to find that the cause of the passenger side not working is actually in the driver's side module. And, of course, on a van of that age you need to rule out the possibility that there may be a wiring fault somewhere between the two - but perhaps you have done that. If so, a breaker's with one of the original T5's is probably your best bet - IIRC they changed from CANbus operated to LINbus operated at the facelift, so one from a 2010-onward van won't work on your van.
It seem odd (and IMO unlikely) that the original supplying dealer would have added aftermarket cab aircon - it was a factory option for all T5's and I doubt it would have been cost-effective compared with just ticking the option on the original order?
Whatever, I would think that a specialist such as Alpinair would be able to provide a replacement based on a measure-up and a look at the fittings. I would expect that a typical aftermarket install would use pretty standard components for things like the condenser.

Thank you @roopert! Much appreciated!
I can't find the relevant part either new or used but a couple of members of the T5 Forum have successfully fitted a similar part from a similar aged Polo/Fabia/Ibiza so I might try that.... As well as watching for the right part when it becomes available....
Yes, it's odd re the Aircon - I've got the paperwork from Brownhills for the retrofit Eberspaecher system fitted pre delivery - I'm hoping that the local Eberspaecher dealer can point me to the right part number. I have documents that suggest that the Eberspaecher system is actually a Delphi Diavia a/c system. I'll keep you posted!
Cheers!

Agreed - it's got to be worth a try. I believe that electrically the original T5 is essentially a Polo, so there's a good chance it will work. Unfortunately I'm not sure which version of the Polo it shares parts with, so you might need to try more than one, but they should be cheap compared to T5 original parts!
[Edit: actually, it seems relatively easy to figure out - seems it would have to be the fourth-generation Polo]

Morning! That's helpful and reassuring! For anyone else experiencing this, here is the link to the thread on the T4/T5 Forum, including part numbers and pictures.Roopert wrote:MichaelP wrote:I can't find the relevant part either new or used but a couple of members of the T5 Forum have successfully fitted a similar part from a similar aged Polo/Fabia/Ibiza so I might try that.

Re: VW T5 Trident
Hello! Just a quick update! Finally got the van back from the garage and am very pleased to say that the alternative part for the window winder actually works! The 2004/5 Seat Ibiza winder mechanism went in, together with a new central locking actuator, and the window, locks, and mirror all work again. The air con condenser I sourced from Germany as an aftermarket part also fitted. Phew! For the time being, almost there! It's booked in for reupholstering next!

Re: VW T5 Trident
That's good news - so part number 6Q1959802A (from an Ibiza) is the part you used?
It's frustrating when a company like VW witholds info on cross-compatibility between VAG group models. But I guess if there is nothing to compel them to...
