Broadway EB cab blinds
We are about to spend the first night in our 2016 Broadway. I can see how all the blinds work now but not sure how to get the cab blinds closed completely as the mirror stalk stops them closing.
Am I supposed to remove the mirror?
I am reluctant to try that unless that is what I am supposed to do!

Do you use the rear view mirror?

Do your front blinds close from the sides, or from the bottom up, if the latter you can raise it all the way but may have to adjust angle of mirror or even remove reversing camera screen, what we do is lower the sun visors and raise blind as high as possible without moving mirror or screen

Thanks for the replies, our blinds close from the sides but the mirror stalk stops them closing at the top.

The blinds should have a springing section that retracts when the blind edges meet the mirror stalk, they may be a bit stiff. The mirror needs to be parallel to the windscreen.blueeyes wrote:Thanks for the replies, our blinds close from the sides but the mirror stalk stops them closing at the top.

I thought the side closing blinds had a notch near the top that allowed for the mirror stalk, hopefully someone with that type of blind in their van will be alo g soon to describe how they do it.

As Richard questioned, is the mirror serving any purpose? I suspect not. In which case you may as well remove it. A Swift headbut usually achieves removalblueeyes wrote:Thanks for the replies, our blinds close from the sides but the mirror stalk stops them closing at the top.

The blinds in our 2016 Broadway fitted around the mirror but I sometimes needed to angle it. That can result in the reversing camera coming off and it is quite fiddly to get the snap on fixings aligned properly to remount it. The magnetic strips on the blinds are not always as effective as they should be but should allow the two blinds to hold together when closed. They shouldn’t let light in.

Ours has that. The blinds close around the mirror stalk. They are held together magnetically - or sometimes not, with interesting revelations!

Does mirror detach?
It seems pretty solidly mounted and I don’t want to break anything.

There are YouTube videos. Believe me, it’s not that solid. Perhaps, though, someone has glued yours to the windscreen.blueeyes wrote:It seems pretty solidly mounted and I don’t want to break anything.

Thanks everyone
I have found YouTube videos on removing the mirror but first attempts not too promising.
There is as mentioned small cut outs on the top of the blinds to wrap around the mirror stem but even this leaves a small gap and the magnetic strip is pretty weak.
My problems are solved with a high tech solution of an elastic band around the closing handles. Simple’s!
This forum is so helpful.

Anti flash gear.
We discovered Blueeyes “ High tech “ solution some years ago, and it does prevent any interesting reveals occurring. Perhaps Autosleepers can consider providing all owners with a ten year supply of elastic bands !
