No more 160bhp Fiats
Members should be aware that 160bhp Fiats are no longer available, I am awaiting for my Dealer to investigate whether Stellantis (Fiat) will honour those vehicles that are already on order.

Is this a temporary glitch or are they stopping production, Tony?

Re: No more 160bhp Fiats
Glad I have mine, although someone did suggest that the difference between the 140 and 160 wouldn't be worth paying the extra for and to go for the 180 but, this wasn't on the options list at Auto Sleeper.
Still pleased with the performance of mine but, I have driven nothing 140 or180 to compare it to.

Stopped, got this from Stellantis UK (Fiat's Owner)in phone conversations, a pain as I have ordered one with the 160 plus 9 speed automatic, always had Auto's as ex motor trade never understood why someone likes changing gear, holding in neutral at stops and junctionsTinwheeler wrote:Is this a temporary glitch or are they stopping production, Tony?

[Edit - jumped to the wrong conclusion. I guess you can still get the auto box with the 140BHP Fiat base vehicle?]

Thanks. Ours is the 140 auto and goes well but it’s only a small van. We would have had the 160 given the choice but even the 140s were like hen's teeth back then.tony50 wrote:Stopped, got this from Stellantis UK (Fiat's Owner)in phone conversations, a pain as I have ordered one with the 160 plus 9 speed automatic, always had Auto's as ex motor trade never understood why someone likes changing gear, holding in neutral at stops and junctionsTinwheeler wrote:Is this a temporary glitch or are they stopping production, Tony?

Re: No more 160bhp Fiats
Definitely the 160 bhp engine has been dropped even If you have a Fiat chassis on order and Fiat has not made it you won't get a 160 bhp , apparently, I thought mine was on order in February this year Fiat has not opened their order book until this November, got this info from Nec Show so anybody got one still on order I suggest you check again, the Dealers don't seem to know what the right hand is doing or the left or they Darrent tell you !!

How about a remap? Did it on the old Topaz and it went like you know what.

A remap was a regular and reliable upgrade on used VW’s when I was on that forum Richard with great results if done right.
Not sure it’s something I would do on a new van though, I would imagine the warranty would be immediately invalidated!
