Squeaking- kemerton XL 2021

Hi,

Can anyone help, we have a 2021 kemerton XL absolutely fantastic vehicle and I understand that all motor homes have a certain amount of rattles but our has a squeak constantly have racked my brains as to where it could be coming from, has anyone had this problem and solved it ? Or can you advise what action to take?

Yes, our last Warwick Duo (2020) made a terrible squeaking/grating noise which was worse in cold weather. Eventually we concluded it was due to the build method which involved bulkheads jammed against the sides/roof of the van without any padding between them. Presumably, as the temp rose so the fittings expanded to become a tight fit.

Great thanks for your quick replies (we still have the VW but have amended as we use our new kemerton more now,) 

It appears to be coming from the wardrobe I have sat in back while my husband drives and I open the wardrobe and it’s fully squeaking, we have used silicon spray etc.

something worth a try is remove each draw and take for a drive and check the fixings .something squeaking in the wardrobe I cant see much it could be with just a table leg other then the unit not secure to the van and has movement

Good. Putting your AS model in your profile often helps folk when responding to queries.

Your description suggests the whole wardrobe is moving slightly as you travel, possibly against the ceiling. I suppose you could march it back under warranty but I’m not convinced it’ll do any good. In my view, vans of the last few years haven’t been put together very well. We viewed a brand new Symbol that had been put on sale with a warped bathroom wall. It should have been sorted before it reached a forecourt.

No issue here with squeaks in our 2019 Kemerton XL, lots of rattles from items in the oven that needed padding out with sheets of thin foam, also from loose dinner plates in the locker above the sink, noises from the wardrobe hangers if not filled with coats etc. less noticeable now are rattles from the window blinds particularly in the sliding door. I'm sorry I cannot help you further.

I looked in my wardrobe and can’t see what could be squeaking so was the reason I said to remove each draw and check fittings and road test. the fridge is next to the wardrobe and could be the problem .it is possible the unit is moving and is the squeaking.at the back of the draw area is that lovely big air gape to the fridge so could get the sound coming from the fridge .you have been nice and only said put together very well. I can’t say what I want to on the build of new campers as to the words I would want to use

My Exec has been driving me mad with a squeak apparently from the drivers door.
If you pull the door harder closed it stopped.
There must be gallons of oil in the damn door now!
Eventually got wifey to sit on the bed behind me, she moved the spare wheel tool roll we store in that gap, squeak stopped!!
It was one tool rubbing on another in the bl**dy tool roll
These things are sent to try us!!

Ours was the forward washroom wall on the Warwick Duo which seemed to be flexing and rubbing against the ceiling, Glynn. I guess any part of the furniture or fittings where there is only the minutest of space allowing movement will cause such a noise. 

Thankfully, the Pulsar doesn’t have that issue.

we have been in our second home all night looking at what everyone has suggested ! We have opened the top cupboards above the fridge and the squeak is there but we do not know how
To  fix it apart from dismantling the cupboards, which is not something we would want to do, it’s seems the front trim under the doors could be the “squeak” as when my husband puts his hands firmly on bottom it move and squeaks

That’s good to here you have found the fault .so the bottom of the unit in the picture

I often find  putting hands firmly on bottom causes a squeak  or yell, followed by a slap
