a leg up will not do
we have a problem my wife is 5 ft short so getting into her cab seat is a problem we need an extra step preferably built in, offering to give her a leg up will not do at all,
any idea's, the rear step i can change for a double no problem but can't find anything for the front it would be nice if the rear step would fit the front, but that would to much to hope for

You can get electric slide-out side steps fitted to cab doors by Towtal of Stoke-on-Trent. DIY versions of fixed steps can be bought off a company on Ebay (search Ducato cab steps).

I had Towtal fit an electric step to the Warwick n/s cab door for same reason. I think there are photos on here somewhere

Helen had the same problem getting into the cab and after looking around had ones fitted at Essanjay at Poole.
You can see them in this thread. https://www.autosleeper-ownersforum.com/t26627-cab-step
She finds getting in and out a lot easier with them.

Had Mine fitted by Essenjay in Poole, changed from a pug to fiat when I changed vans so the steps are about seven years old now and still look like new after cleaning best £350.00 spent ever.

Just placed an order with Essenjay. None in stock at the moment but I'll be added to the waiting list. Steps are supplied in pairs.

Re: a leg up will not do
We have this problem as my other half founds it tricky. Our solution is to carry a small fold up stool which we store in the side pocket in the passenger door. It does the trick notwithstanding that the driver i.e. me has to then put it away again in the side pocket. It’s a small price to pay though. And of course we have the option of entering via the habitation door in our Broadway.

Re: a leg up will not do
At the AGM at Newark this year there was an AS Winchcombe ( on Mercedes running gear) had what appeared to be 3/4 length additional step permanently fitted to both sides fitted to the chassis to allow easier entry. I never manage to speak to the owner, so never found out the source of the steps. I’ve asked the dealership and searched the internet with no success. I’m just getting too old to leap about nowadays as I use to do with great enthusiasm.

Re: a leg up will not do
It appears not from the photo I took. It looks like a right handed plate that is attached to the subframe. The leading edge and side has a tubular edging to the assembly, with step material on the top surface. It doesn’t look that it is retractable. I am not sure if I can put the photo up. Of course it could a well made home effort.

That sounds like the Essanjay step I have.

Your Devon has the running boards fitted by AS, I think similar to my Gloucester? I think you will struggle to fit a retracting step below those, which is significantly lower than the fixed RB.
