strikeback security system Vanblitz
Hi folks. we have a 2019 broadway EB. It had an alarm fitted by our dealer when we bought it. Recently we met someone on a campsite who had the vanblitz strikeback system fitted on his motorhome and he was very complimentary about it.
As newbies to motorhoming we were wondering if any of you have had this system fitted - is it worth considering/necessary - is it effective?
Sorry about the dim questions

When we ordered our new motorhome we stipulated it must have an alarm which Marquis provided. On their recommendation they had a Vodafone Cobra alarm fitted which, touch wood, works well. The only thing they didn't do was ensure it was connected to the Sargent tracker so that the latter's alarm alerts worked. Among other things, alarm alerts give advance warning of an attack and help to protect the tracker. 3 years on and I am still trying to get the alarm alerts to work as they should - automated SMS and/or e-mail alerts and a phone call to the owner from the manned tracking centre.Plymouthwelshboy wrote:Hi folks. we have a 2019 broadway EB. Having looked at the Vanblitz, all it seems to provide that the Cobra doesn't is additional sirens and external neon warning lights to try and put off the attacker. The Cobra like most vehicle alarms has just one siren unit with a rechargeable battery, but it is quite loud, and one flashing light on the dash. The Vanblitz's additional lights will increase the parasitic load on the vehicle battery but perhaps not by much. I haven't read deeply into the Vanblitz but if it can be provided with a tracker that is integrated with it, just as the Sargent tracker should be, that would be a significant advantage as it will broadcast an attack well beyond the range of its sirens.

I had one fitted to my new Motorhome in 1999. Went to Spain on holiday.Plymouthwelshboy wrote:Hi folks. we have a 2019 broadway EB. It had an alarm fitted by our dealer when we bought it. Attempted break in foiled by alarm.
Was very expensive and a trip to Taunton.
Unfortunately, in the sun and multi language stickers no deterrent until break in attempted.
