Re: Newark ASOC Rally
Front ones are easily obscured by silver screens.
Probably inappropriate to fly my ASOF flag.

Found it, where it was supposed to be, amazing if you saw our summerhouse. It will be the shorter 6m pole however

Re: Newark ASOC Rally
Im not directly involved in running the rally now but I expect that, as for several years now, if you want to be pitched near a friend(s) you need to arrive together or the first wait at the gate until the other arrives.

Re: Newark ASOC Rally
The same reason as people fly Scottish, welsh, county flags and club flags on rallies and campsites - to advertise their interests to other campers and act as an 'ice-breaker' to start a conversation. Flying flags is very popular in our leisure activity.

I'm sorry to advise that I have tested positive for COVID so anyone I was in contact with should be vigilant for symptoms.

Carol also tested positive but has no symptoms except a bit light headed. I awoke with headache, cough and runny nose. Temperature not quite at fever level .roli wrote:Sorry to here that Paul, is Carol ok? Will watch out for symptoms
We intended to stay over somewhere on the way home but I felt so rough we just came home.

Jean (Membership Secretary) Also positive and feeling really rough. She says she had quite a crowd around her after the Open Forum, so anyone who was with or near her should be aware. I seem to be ok so far - Testing negative. According to Office of National Statistics 17 in every 100 people has Covid, so on that basis there were 34 members came to the rally with it. not surprising that we have this issue. We both tested negative the morning we set off and decided we can't stay locked up forever. It is what it is. (that could have been one of Ozzies famous sayings quiz questions!)

Sorry to hear about Jean, Dennis, lucky enough Im not sufferering that bad. It was like a lung problem I have and it was only doing a second test that revealed the Corvid.
At one point there was a lady who was talking to Liz who admitted she was not on "full time" but had come to the rally, wonder if it was her, Liz didnt know her name

Re: Newark ASOC Rally
As much as nobody on here wants to get Covid, I suppose one positive to come from this is that it proves the virus is generally not as dangerous for many as it was in the early days.

Re: Newark ASOC Rally
We've both tested negative today (Tuesday) though we were only at Newark for the Thursday and Friday. We both have hospital appointments coming up which we would have to cancel if we tested positive but neither appointment is urgent. We knew that the evening meals carried a risk but were prepared to take that risk for the sake of socialising. However, we had decided in advance not to go to the Saturday meeting or forum because of the crowded nature of it.
