Air bag
Warning light stays on after starting and handbook says refer to Peugeot garage. It’s booked in for MOT in early February and I believe it’s a potential fail if not resolved. Has anyone had a similar problem and how was it resolved?

Re: Air bag
Check connections under passenger seat, the swivelling can disturb the connections. If not that then your airbag ecu may be faulty, check out crash-data company who may be able to repair far cheaper than a replacement from Peugeot or FIAT.

Unfortunately, it's certain to fail (section 7.1.6 - Major fail).
In this situation you really need to get the diagnostic codes read. As Paul says, take a look at any connections that you can get to, but anything more complex than that and it will just be guesswork without having the codes read, and some of the components (e.g. the airbag controller) will be very expensive.

Seems to be a growing problem exasperated by lack of replacement parts ,

Re: Air bag
I am not saying this is the cause, but a possibility. Upto about 2 years ago our van dash threw all sorts of error messages out, Lights Not Working, Engine about to Fail, Airbag Not working amongst others. It was a faulty BSI unit which a quick re-set sorted. Very annoying

Sorry but I missed this thread. There have been a few similar thread recently. I had the same warning on mine last month. Had the ECU repaired. Apparently several firms do so.

Update
Took van to my local garage for diagnostic check but they were unable to finalise check so decided to go to Peugeot dealer. They completed the check & diagnosed B0100 failed airbag ECU. They had one in stock & gave 50%discount and replaced it. Final costs were new lateral air bag box£109.83 labour £52 & VAT £34 so totally cost£195. Van now booked in for MOT next week. Overall I guess a repair might have come in cheaper but on this occasion it suited us to get it resolved quickly.
The fact that they stock this item & offered a good discount suggests it might be a regular problem ?
