NEW MEMBER - HELLO!
Hi
Downsized a week ago from a Swift Royale to a 2004 Nuevo ES - after reading all the reviews decided to go for the four berth in preference to the low level. Four berth gives more seating options - centre facing settees or forward facing seats with belts and also more storage room above cab.
Swapped day working for night shifts two years ago, to give me more time away motorhoming. Trips away are mostly with my dog, Sookey the Westie (who would quite happily be a full timer in the van) and my Sister - a Duetto and Westie owner. Most of our trips are of 2-3 days duration and centred around Devon/Cornwall, with the occasional run into Somerset or Dorset.
I'm still trying to fit everything into the Nuevo (cant believe how much stuff I emptied out of the Royale) and get used to the differences between the two vans - will miss the old Swift, had loads of good times away in her, but am liking the smaller Nuevo to drive and park.
Had a first trip away to Trewiston Farm campsite and encountered the following problems - couldnt get the hook up attached to the van and ended up having to bend back the cap on the hook up cable to attach it (inside the little cubby hole on outside of van, the hook up attachment wouldnt pull out, there was a blue plastic 'switch' next to it which I thought you had to press down to pull out hook up- but, no). So will have to have a fiddle with that when it stops raining. We (well, my Sister, as she was in charge of attaching the gas bottle to the regulator) saw there was no regulator. Much cursing of the previous owner for taking it, was followed by a trip through a downpour to Wadebridge ,to buy a regulator. Only to return to the campsite and find if I had bothered to look myself I would have seen the regulator was attached to the wall behind the bottle and many apologies to previous owner for the names we called him!!. Next problem was trying to open the toilet cassette door - we cant!. There's a button to the left top of the door and also a key, used both but door wont open. The door would open at the top, but the key doesnt seem to be working - another thing to fiddle with when the rain stops.
Apart from that, it was a good first trip away and looking forward to many more
regards
Moira and Sookey

Hi there,
Welcome from a dismal and cloudy Skegness.
DON'T force the cassette door!! The chances are that either the small catch isn't releasing properly or you are not operating it properly!
Suggest you push the door in gently then push the button before pulling the door open. If that doesn't work then push in slightly to the side and try again.
After that get a wrecking bar and ....... !!
Best regards,

Hello
Hi Moira & Sooky,
Welcome to the forum from the Isle of Man, (no not the Isle of Wight,) Our van is a Nuevo ES in disguise (Marquis Special) same year, different lighting and decals etc, the best van we have had, I think you have made a good choice.

Re: NEW MEMBER - HELLO!
Thank you all for your greetings
Have tried your ideas, Dutto, (well, must admit to not getting the wrecking bar out ) with no luck. I'll have to keep trying to get in touch with the last owners and see what they come up with
best wishes from Moira and Sookey in a sunny but windy Plymouth

Re: NEW MEMBER - HELLO!
Moira and Sookey,
Shouldn't really be replying on this particular site but ......
If you have no luck with the previous owners, and it is a normal Thetford Door, then I think it is possible to remove the whole door by removing the pins that hold the hinges with a 2mm drift punch.
Look on the bright side. At least you aren't stood there with your legs crossed just yet!
Best regards,
