Another years MOT Empty Another years MOT

Last year's advisory of corrosion on inner face of both front discs was hoped to be from standing still for most of the year and would 'rub off' once used but decided to get them changed now prior to the MOT, so got my usual mechanic  to do them this morning. New discs, pads and brake fluid change (couldn't find any evidence amongst bills that this had ever been changed in 11 years), plus MOT (no advisories this time) = £331.

Not that expensive considering it also includes the MOT.
Best bit, especially with brakes, you now know they are perfect, as has also been proved with the MOT brake check. up!

Would have been interested to see the old brake fluid?!

I did see the old fluid (known this mechanic for getting on for 20 years) as he let's me watch (as long as I make the coffee). Considering  it appears to never  have been changed before, it was only a little cloudy but did contain a little water. Pedal certainly firmer now. The MOT is carried out at a different garage.

That was very reasonable. I paid about £160 recently for pads plus MOT and thought that was cheap.
