Northumberland
Just returned from 5 days in the NE Sites very busy as was Holy Isle (full to busting at 1030 Sunday) and all a long the coast!
Heavy rain on the Monday but nice for the rest. Beamish site was very nice and a visit to Dobbies at Morpeth for Anns birthday treats was nice though the long walk from the cp to theĀ restaurantĀ was unexpected. On the Monday we called at their Edinburgh store for coffee but the ladies who coffee were cueing out the door so we gave it a miss..

Re: Northumberland
Re Crowds on Holy Island ..... if time permits and the tides are right, I can recommend crossing just before the causeway closes and returning to mainland as it reopens. You’re trapped for about 6 hours but it is beautifully peaceful. Plenty of time to explore without the crowds.
