I need guidance on how to remove the ribbed plastic cover at the rear facing base of the passenger seat without breaking it. It is, in effect, the rear cover of the jack box.

I confess I couldn’t find a way of doing it without breaking them.  They are hinged at the bottom and have tabs at the top.  I removed both of mine to make space for two baskets which I use for carrying stuff.  This concept is fine but the back of the jack box on the passenger side protrudes into the space a bit.  I also removed the drop down flaps under the fronts of the seats as the carpet got in their way when opening them.

Similar to Caraman.

I tried to remove the driver's side plate without breaking it (also for extra storage space) but failed dismally.

Perhaps if I had removed the seat I might have been able to see how to do it??? If you can be bothered Ian, you might like to try that.

The drop down flaps at the front of the seat bases on our Peugeot Boxer were very stiff to open. Looking to store a 5M length of hose under the driver's seat last week I broke off the tabs. Rather than buy a replacement I glued a small button magnet after some initial preparation work with a Dremel type drill and glued a small thin strip of aluminium (non-magnetic) at the back of the magnet. Now the flap is easy to open and close.
Currently I've decided I'm now going to store the hose at the back of the van and under the driver's seat store the Whale fresh water fill tube and some waste water pipe should we ever go on a serviced pitch.

What I eventually discovered was a better way of opening the front flap on the passenger site. I'm now going to put a finger and thumb either side of the top tab to lift and release it from the horizontal rod. Just pulling the hinged flap forward was what broke of the tab from the flap on the driver's side.

Haven't broken ours - yet!

I find it works if you put your thumb on the top flap and pull outwards to open it, while your fingers go half way down the flap and press inwards. This flexes it a bit and makes it easier to release the top tab.

I'm certain a good many of these devices are designed on the computer by a spotty 17 year old whizz kid who needs someone practical to sharpen his pencil . . . assuming he would recognise a pencil!!  shrugg

Hi. Thanks for the tips but it is the plastic ribbed/ ventilation plate at the back, back of the seat that I am tussling to get off  - not the front hinged one.

On my Duo there are two clips, about an inch or so from each end of the panel, at the top.
If you press down simultaneously on these points and pull outwards, the panel will release.

Understood Ian. That's the one I referred to earlier, which I broke trying to get it off!  rolleyes

In this photo below you can see the grey felt covered board I put in place to cover the hole. It makes a very handy space for carrying the Disklok, which is a pain in the rear otherwise.

The front hinged plate is not a problem, it just needs a bit of gentle coaxing!  up!
