We had to replace the glass cooker top on our 2002 Nuevo last year and recently the hinge has not worked and we have to prop it up with a stick! Can anyone suggest a better solution to holding the top up when cooking, e.g. type of bracket perhaps similar to the bracket that holds the sink worktop up, as we don't want to have to change the glass top yet again.

Hi Besty,
Our 2004 Lancashire has a similar cooker top to yours and the hinges are spring loaded. There are 2 possibilities, either the springs in your hinges has broken ( it means new hinges) or your new lid is of thicker and therefore heavier glass which might mean that it is too heavy for the springs to hold it up.

PS Our glass sink lid also has spring loaded hinges, and stays up without a prop.

Our Duetto has a glass top cooker (with no spring loaded hinges), when you lift the cover up, there is a separate catch/hook on the wall which twists and then holds the cooker hood up.

Perhaps you could source this part & retro fit it to your van?

Hi, I've found a catch/hook which I've fitted on the wall. It opens and then holds the cooker glass up. Does the job!
