New Member Introduction
Hello, although I joined this forum about year ago this is my first post.
I bought a 1992 VW Transporter Traveler in May last year from a friend's father who sadly could no longer use it. It had been very well looked after and maintained but not surprisingly, due to its age, it needed some TLC to get it up to scratch. A really good internal clean plus all the filters and oil change and gas and electric inspections.. A bit of welding in the battery bay and completely removing all the cill covers and replacing wooden battens and gas locker floor. It all works really well (and simply). Lockdown has prevented any trips but I am about to start some short journeys to road test it just in case.
I have seen some very helpful responses to members' questions and also have looked on in awe at some of the renovations undertaken. I haven't the skills to attempt anything more than basics but I am sure to need advice and I look forward to being a part of this very friendly and helpful forum.

You are welcome on the forum but this is a dedicated site for Autosleepers vans so there may be not so much help on the habitation side but you should be able to get help on the VW side as AS built many vans on VW bases
