Re: Hot water
Don't know your van, our's has a 40c and 60c setting, 40c does not really get very hot and water cools down fast.
We use gas.

Re: Hot water
Quick question, when you say 2 mins, do you shower with the water running continuously for the 2 mins?

Re: Hot water
heres your problem.....
it's no good putting the water on HOT and then setting the heating to BOOST....the boost setting effectively overrides the other function, so heating is overriding the got water, in fact shutting it off.
heres a couple of tips....
either have hot water on hot and heating on required temp and wait, it will take a good while (45 mins) to heat the water when the heating is also on...
OR....put the hot water on early (timer?) on its own which will heat the whole tank in 20-25 mins....then put the heating on....when you make a cuppa?...and this will keep the watwr hot while warmong the van....then, after youve had a cuppa, the water will be hot and the bathroom warm.
...and yes...once the watwr is hot you shpuld have enough for two showers, as we do each morning.
good luck.

Re: Hot water
We had a useful exchange on this subject a few days ago on a different thread. If the Truma CP heat source is set to electricity and the heating is on, the water will warm up regardless of the hot water setting including if it is off. This method of heating the water has two drawbacks. First it will only work if the temperature of the van is below the level set on the CP and second it will be slow because most of the energy going into the Truma is extracted to warm up the van. This is why the boost setting be it eco/boost or hot/boost is useful because it temporarily stops the heating from working thereby concentrating all the energy on warming up the water which it does to about 62 deg - 2 deg higher than hot. Eco/boost is also useful when the heating is off or the temperature of the van is above the level set on the CP.

Re: Hot water
We've only run out of hot water once for two showers. That was the first time after I replaced the failed submersible pump with a Shurflo. Because the pressure was so much higher the mixer tap was really difficult to use to get the right temperature AND the right flow rate and SWMBO ran out of hot water before she had mastered it. And so did I (almost) half an hour later. Installing a separate on/off tap at the shower head made retaining the right temperature easy and thus solved the problem.
