Cold tap pipe leaking.
Hi tried filling up today after emptying for the winter and water was pouring out of the cold pipe where it joins to the tap.
There is a white plastic thing on the pipe that stops you seeing where the leak is, I'm not sure what it's purpose is?
Any ideas?
We don't know if the pipe is split or it's another issue.
Regards Mandy

Sorry new to this.

Re: Cold tap pipe leaking.
From the photo it looks as if the cold connection has been push off partly, maybe due to frost.
Putting two fingers, one either side, on the thin inner collar and pushing down, whilst holding the connector should allow you to push it back up onto the tap.
Its a bit of a knack, don't worry about pulling the connector off whilst pushing the collar down, it just pushes back on one handed.

Thanks for the reply, I thought as much though we did drain it all down though there may have been a bit left in.
Cheers.

You've got Whale pipe fittings not John Guest's, they're mostly interchangeable. In our Kemerton XL van the Whale external mains water fill stuff uses Whale fittings, the rest of connections in our van seem to be John Guest's. Pipework is usually 12mm pipe, though 15mm is also manufactured.

I think it unnecessary to separate the joint by pulling apart. I would hazard a guess that the best option would be to grip the pipe at either side of the joint and push together firmly. Then test. If it still leaks, the connector is faulty and needs a replacement.

Agree totally with this. Just push it all together - but be careful of what might be happening at the other end of that blue pipe ! There may be a similar fitting there, perhaps an elbow?KMRTOPAZ wrote:I think it unnecessary to separate the joint by pulling apart.
