New Member...hello!
Just joined and looking forward to participating in the forum.
We took delivery of "Wullie" (named after my late father) in June 2020. Wullie is a 2006 Auto-Sleeper Pollensa on a Ford Transit Automatic base and was owned by friends of ours from new. Only 35,000 miles on the clock.
My only previous motorhome/campervan experience was a trip up the West Coast of Scotland in 1964 with my dad, mum, brother and sister in a Bedford Dormobile. We managed a few trips away last year (Yorkshire, Lake District, South West Scotland and St Ives) and have a few already planned for this May/June once Covid restrictions are lifted ( ie Southport, North Wales and South West England). We are loving it!
We've decided not to venture abroad in 2021 so highlight of this year will be us retracing my 1964 trip up the West Coast of Scotland. This will be rather poignant as I'll be scattering my dad's ashes at Achnacarry/ Spean Bridge where dad did his Commando training. When I was sorting out dad's stuff with my brother and sister I discovered the small pocket atlas he used in 1964 and it has the full route documented with all the intermittent mileages and overnight stops. I will be literally reliving my youth.
As I said, I'm really looking forward to participating now that I've found the true experts!
Regards,
Martin
