EXTERIOR BBQ GAS POINT ON 2012 A/S BROADWEY
Hi, everybody,
My Broadwey has a Gaslow system fitted with an external gas point.
I have just purchased a Cadac Safari Chef 2 lite which i wish to connect to the external point but as this is the first Moho that i have had with an external gas point i am unsure of what fittings are used for safe connection. The name on the gastap behind the cover is Reich and there is a brass fitting which has a hole through, it obviously for the gas to come through, however there is no threaded nozzle to fit the rubber tube onto it, i can only describe the end as having a hexagonal opening.
I have no knowledge of this type of fitting, do you have to have a conventional regulator for this set up,sorry but i am in the dark with this one,any help would be appreciated. I have has a look at some posts on here re this subject but am still unsure.

Hi John,
Is your Safari Chef a low pressure (LP) or high pressure (HP) model?

LP is good, it should mean a solution isn’t too difficult!
Don’t take this as being 100% relevant for your unit but it may be helpful...
High Pressure Cadac Barbecues run off EN417 threaded gas cartridges and the gas cartridge is threaded directly into the bottom of the barbecue. You can run and operate your Cadac High Pressure BBQ off our Coleman C300 or Coleman C500 (EN417) disposable gas cartridges, without a hose and regulator kit.
Should you settle for Low Pressure Cadac Barbecue, you can choose how you wish to operate the BBQ, either from larger refillable gas cylinders or from the gas hook-up on the side of your caravan or motorhome. You can run a Low Pressure model from a R907 gas cylinder coupled with a Campingaz (R907) Hose and Regulator Kit; as an option.
In addition, a Cadac Low Pressure BBQs can also run and operate from our high pressure, disposable, (EN417) threaded gas cartridges (Coleman C300 / Coleman C500) either by using Cadac's Dual Power Pak or Cadac's EN417 Hose and Regulator Kit.

You need a low pressure one as the pressure will be reduced by the Gaslow system. If you need to use a rubber hose then you will have a low pressure one as the high one connects directly to a gas cylinder. You attach the BBQ to the Reich outlet with one of these:-
https://www.huddersfieldgas.co.uk/product/external-gas-point-bbq-quick-release-nozzle-caravan-motorhome-post-2004-7/
The one here has a barbed end that pushes into the rubber pipe but I used to have one with just a straight barrel and used a jubilee clip to secure it to the gas pipe with no problems. The other end just pushes up into the Reich fitting where there is a knurled piece that you push up to release the nozzle.
I use my CC at home as well as with the van. You can buy an inline connector

to connect to a regulator on a gas bottle via a short piece of hose..

Hi Peter thanks for the info and links.I now know where to go with this one, was unfamiliar with the external bbq point fitting on the moho, and can now see how the push fit connector works. Regards John W.
