Is it me ?

Also don't understand the notion of reparations for actions of our ancestors. Agree that by today's standards slavery is abhorrent, but so is putting children to work in coal mines, factories etc. The business owners made fortunes from both scenarios but I don't hear noises about mine owners families paying reparations to today's descendants.

Similarly attitudes to women were very different when I was a lad.

If the sins of the father's principle is taken to extremes can I get an apology and compensation from Italy, France and Scandinavia for invasion and exploitation of my forebares in between one and two thousand years ago?

I seem to remember this guilt trip regarding our past started during the Blair government years. Hardly a week went by when he wasn't apologising for some deed or other carried out by our ancestors..

You certainly have lots of snow there , we are moving to Southrepps in three weeks, and they were cut off a couple of days ago by 6ft snow drifts roads closed. that will be interesting.
