Total Newbie interested in Talisman
The Talisman seems to tick our boxes but we have seen two different versions. Can anyone tell us the difference?

Re: Total Newbie interested in Talisman
Are you thinking about versions or comparing the original Talbot based vans to the later Peugeot Boxer Models, similar to the 97 Executive your profile currently shows
The Talisman same as a 2 or 3 berth version like the Executive

Hello & welcome from S/Yorks.
Version 1, one long fixed sofa/bed on left & one seat facing forward & one seat facing rearward on right side, the table can be fitted between the 2 seats, ( dinette ) or they can be slid together to make the right side single, plus the left side bolster can be fitted between the 2 sides to make a 6ft square double.
Version 2, forward & rearward facing seats on BOTH sides ( 2 dinettes ) & 2 tables. This is the one I had with 2 dinettes.

Re: Total Newbie interested in Talisman
Roli, I believe I am comparing Peugeot with Peugeot and may have answered my own question. The one using the front seats I think is a Talisman GL and the one with full length bunks not using the front seats is a Talisman GX. So I think I am looking for a Talisman GX Version One. The GL must be a shorter overall length.

That pattern of material is quite old, I would have thought it was on a Talbot.

Careymack, your pic shows sliding windows, so I think its a much older Talisman, mine was 1998 with the same body as the executive.

I now know my picture was the GL on a Talbot. Does anyone know what the various suffixes mean ie Talisman GL, GX & GLS?modelman wrote:Careymack, your pic shows sliding windows, so I think its a much older Talisman, mine was 1998 with the same body as the executive.

Re: Total Newbie interested in Talisman
Hi all phil here (wife Ann with me on hols in Scotland), just joined the forum. We have 1999 Duetto 2 berth with Ford 2.5tdi engine, done just 14,200 miles! Bought 2 yrs ago with only 6.5k on clock! Loving it except a few silly niggles - a few days ago we lost plastic trim panel from LHS while on M-way ... lots of gusts of wind. Does anyone have a good reproducible solution to lost / broken trim panels? Would love to hear of solutions not just "lucky to find another" stories ...... We have fitted thicker foam to our rear bed-seats , which has made a huge difference to our sleeping! Intending to make and fit a rear storage box to fit onto a full- width rear step to carry all those external extras required (folding chairs etc). Has anyone else done this or found a good supplier?
Take care all and happy camping! Phil

Re: Total Newbie interested in Talisman
Can I suggest you start a new thread in van conversion section. Your question will get lost tagging onto a thread about a wanted monocoque model.
