Re-opening of Welsh campsites
The Industry guidelines for Wales have been published today. Providing the go-ahead is given at the next review on the 9th July, caravan sites and campsites can re-open from 13th July but no shared facilities will be allowed to open, just water taps and waste/dump facilities.
Both major clubs have been working towards that date for their Welsh sites although some sites will not be opening at all this year.
I had booked sites from 9th, hoping at that time that Wales would open at same time as England on the 4th, but I've had our first site cancelled and lost the first day of our second site but I've been able to book the first site again at the end of our tour instead. Roll on the 13th !

Re: Re-opening of Welsh campsites
Toilet tents are not to be allowed , so tent campers are going to struggle, so may not be as busy on sites as first thought. Don't know if having a portapotti inside a tent is acceptable. Maybe less kids on sites as a consequence.

Re: Re-opening of Welsh campsites
We are booked on our favourite CL at Dolgellau on the 16th July.
I intend to re tax the motorhome tomorrow (1/7) having scorned it late March
Hope to get a few local days out in the coming couple of weeks.
Happy Motor-homing & Keep Safe

Re: Re-opening of Welsh campsites
The opening date in Wales was brought forward to the 11th to enable Saturday to Saturday bookings.
We've just arrived at C&CC site at Cardigan Bay. We are the only ones here although 2 more expected today. Toilets are closed for the next two weeks (Wales only) so all tent bookings were cancelled.
Instructions are to wait in vehicle on arrival and phone wardens. This we did and got answerphone saying closed till 11th (today is 11th), so we waited at gate. Ten minutes later warden arrives, stands two feet away from my window, no facemask. Very friendly and chatty and explains where everything is. Everything seems same as always except toilets. Never had so much room to ourselves... Here for 2 nights.

Re: Re-opening of Welsh campsites
And you've got the weather!
Presumably no washing-up facilities? We're away next week and I hoped to have some BBQs - until a friend said that we'd probably have to wash it up in the van. Now the unlimited supply of very hot water, and a large sink, are essential for washing up the BBQ bits, and I don't want to try to do so in the van. We'll see....
Enjoy Cardigan Bay!
