Re: Tow bar
I don't have a Broadway or a tow bar, with or without an attached bike rack, and I don't know your rear axle loading margin and how much of it you normally use. However, I know that the only MTMLMs that matter are your rear axle at 2000 kg and you overall vehicle at 3500 kg. A tow bar with an attached bike rack will be heavier than a rear wall mounted bike rack and with the bikes this will eat into your rear axle loading margin, not only due to their weight but also their position far behind the rear axle which transfers mass off the front axle onto the rear axle where you least want it. This is something to check if you haven't already done so.

If you buy a tow bar bike rack it will almost certainly have a lighting bar attached, so that's another problem solved!

Yes, it was taken on day 1 of our first trip last year and gave rise to my first post on the forum - https://www.autosleeper-ownersforum.com/t29673-bike-rack?highlight=bike+rack
As I see it there are three lighting options, cheap and cheerful tie on lighting board which I have, a flip down lighting board which I believe can come as part of a Fiamma rear wall mounted bike rack or as Grommit has said a lighting board that is integral with the tow ball mounted rack. I can see the benefits of the flip down integral ones but they are more expensive.

Mids,
Just re-read https://www.autosleeper-ownersforum.com/t29673-bike-rack?highlight=bike+rack which as you will see addresses some of your concerns. In the end I fitted a flying in-line 12N socket which I cable tied securely to the alloy strut supporting the fibreglass skirt behind the waste water outlet which works well for me. We thought we would be taking the bikes with us on every trip but we now only do so when we are sure we are going to use them. This is in part due to the faff of fitting the cover and lighting board. When the road is filthy as it often is in the winter months, a cover is useful as the back of the van can get really dirty. On the other hand, you can just clean the bikes with a bucket of water as you might do after you have used them in muddy conditions.
