Hi all (A confession!)
Hi Everyone, my name is Steve and I have a confession, I dont have an Autosleeper!
(Pause for echo's of boo's to die down and the stoning to stop)
In fact we dont even own a Motorhome
(Pause for second round of stoning to die down including a packet of gravel from a MP fan)
But we do own a caravan
(Final pause for hisses, catcalls, and barrage of sticks, stones and the odd lego brick to subside)
However, as a couple of oldies now retired, we got bought the caravan last year to do some touring before we get to rickerty only to find that we hate towing, or should I say , it scares the poop out of us.
So we looked longingly at motorhomes but found them far too expensive and far too large
Then a few weeks before this nasty pandemic I had a scary hospital trip with the ticker, only to be discharged into a changed world and we decided that life really can be too short so made the decision to do what we want before its too late.
So we searched for a small MH, and went from Elddis (too large) to Nu venture (still pretty huge) to Romahomes, nice size but the Loo! Then we found a Topaz. Oooo!! Not only a real Loo, but a shower too. And beds that can be either singles or a double, a little lounge and it will fit in our teeny parking space, just, AND! The dealer will deliver and tow away the caravan so I never have to tow again!
Sold! Well almost. If all goes well we will be buying the Topaz in the near future, its a 2005 Auto. The deals been agreed and we start proceedings Monday when I give the dealer everything I own including one kidney in good condition and half a liver that has seen better days!
So, being a mere 65 I still haven't grown up yet and as I am now super excited I have been trawling the web for everything I can find about Topaz. I came across this site and wanted to read what others do with their Topaz's but to join I had to disclose what Autosleeper I owned
So I lied! For shame! (hangs head)
But hopefully all will be forgiven when I get the Topaz :)

Welcome, Steve. I love your sense of humour and, just to make you feel better, I was a caravanner for 40+ years before swapping to a MH.

Welcome Steve and Carole from Selsdon.....what a brilliant sense of humour. Don’t worry most of us have been shed tuggers but have seen the light. Best thing I ever did. You will find we are a friendly lot.....any questions ask away.

Re: Hi all (A confession!)
Thanks for the welcome chaps. I’ve been told to go to bed now because I’m over excited and going to make myself sick so speak later. Oh and the missus also said that if I mention Topaz one more time she will hide my keyboard for a week so let’s just say T5 when we whisper so she doesn’t know! Haha. Speak later

Hello & welcome from S/Yorks.
Had a few caravans as well, didn't like them, but they were used for travelling work behind a transit van, ( trade shows ) love the MH's though, compromises have to be made however, & we all had to weigh up which way we went!
Enjoy.

Hi Steve and Carole.
Stranger things have happened than moving from caravan to motorhome, I graduated straight from a motorbike and small tent.
Being able to get out of bed and stand up without having to crawl outside first was a revelation, everything else was a bonus...

Re: Hi all (A confession!)
Firstly - Welcome ASOF
Like many others also was a tugger for 37 years.
But I’ve never looked back since changing to a Motorhome
There is also a Autosleepers Owners Club you may wish to consider joining.
There are organised rallies both in the UK and Abroad (not at present because of lockdown )
