Re: Nuevo damp
I had water coming into the underbed space. I took it back to AS. They found that there was inadequate (meaning "none") sealant around the gas and electricity sockets. They sealed them. Sorted.

Yes, same problem and same solution but they also resealed the side locker. The dealership changed the fridge vents first as they "diagnosed" that as the place water was getting in, it wasn't and it didn't.

Same entry points on our current van with habitation check three years ago. Lack of sealant confirmed as cause and rectified by dealer under the warranty for used van. Initially 30% damp discovered under kitchen unit and off-side bench.

Re: Nuevo damp
That is a likely cause Baz. There was a batch of vans which had either the "wrong sealant" when those points were fitted, or it degraded and began to leak. Your van is only a bit older than ours, so it could be the same.Molly3 wrote:2014 nuevo damp in ns side locker wall worst below below outsidet gas and electric points could it be rain getting in through fridge vents . any advice please . We had foam gaskets fitted to ours under warranty, which is not so easy just now of course. It appears to have cured the leak.
If/when A/S spares are open, you could ask for the gaskets to be sent to you so you can fit them yourself or get a mobile engineer to do it during a Hab check perhaps.

A few years ago I had water running across the floor from poor sealing of the Whale inlet - resealed and no problem since apart from removing inlet to replace the broken flap cover!

Same here too, damp on nearside near to rear wheel arch. Fridge vents replaced and then the gas/electric points resealed. This was done by AS under warranty 3 years ago. No problems since.Paramedic wrote:Same entry points on our current van with habitation check three years ago. I had a Stanton (Nuevo on a Merc). At 2 yrs old major damp found in under seat locker on passengers side with external hatch & fridge vents. It had to go back to A/S to be fixed.
