Hello from new member
Hello everyone.
Apologies as I have already posted before introducing myself, so to make amends:
I have recently up-sized from Mazda Bongo to an Autosleepers Pollensa. The Bongo did us proud for 31,000 miles and nearly 3 years as we are active types and used it to get to crags and far flung places for climbing, plus it also served as my runabout. However age and the lack of storage space took its toll and, as I had been watching my retirement lump sum gathering nothing but dust, I decided it was time to acquire a 'proper' van.
I am absolutely delighted with the Pollensa. It isn't new but it is beautifully built and had been very well looked after. Despite the appalling weather it has been to the Lake District - boy did we love the heating - and to the Peaks in the 3 weeks I've owned it.
We tend to like no frills campsites & aires so we plan to add an underslung gastank to increase capacity & free up the outside locker.
I've rediscovered manual gears, found how to switch on the lights, stopped using the windscreen wipers to indicate and can even back it into the drive. It's not a runaround, but then I've got that free bus pass now.
Anyone want to buy pre-owned porta-potti - very clean!?
