Fresh water tank leaks
Hi I'm the proud owner of a Ravenna 1999 this is my first motorhome and recently discovered the fresh water tank and pump are leaking. Does anybody know where I can get replacements from?. How easy are the to change?. I have some basic mechanical and DIY skills just wondering is there anything particular to be aware of?. Thanks in advance.

The pump will be a Shurflo, probably a 16psi which is no longer available but a 20psi is perfectly suitable. Obtainable from eBay or any caravan shop. Easy job, straight swop. As for the tank have a look at Cak Tanks who supply dozens of different sizes and shapes.

Thanks. Would the rise in psi affect the other plumbing in the van? I.e extra pressure on the pipes or water heater.Paulmold wrote:The pump will be a Shurflo, probably a 16psi which is no longer available but a 20psi is perfectly suitable. The increase is insufficient to cause problems. Many pumps have been changed without problems.Tooter wrote:Thanks. Would the rise in psi affect the other plumbing in the van? Ok thanks I have emailed cak thanks to see if they can supply one. Are the water tanks hard to change.
If I put a 30psi pump on would that cause problems down the line? a stronger shower would be nice.

Not really, the hardest part will be undoing rusty strap securing bolts. Best to replace the straps as well if they are rusty.Tooter wrote:Ok thanks I have emailed cak thanks to see if they can supply one. Are the water tanks hard to change.

The threaded straps seem rusty they just look like threaded bolts with a hook shape on top do you know where I can get these? Sorry for all the questions.

They probably use same fittings today so a call to AS spares may be worthwhile .Tooter wrote:The threaded straps seem rusty they just look like threaded bolts with a hook shape on top do you know where I can get these? Sorry for all the questions.

Hi had a good look for a water tanks and found one approx the right size but it requires holes drilling for inlet outlet to pump and out let to empty. But have no idea on what type and size fittings to use any advice would be helpful.
