Broadway Hartal door
The top catch is not catching on my habitation door. If I push the catch open it does lock so I don't think it is a broken spring. It looks to me as if I need to lengthen the U bolt thingy but trying to figure out how to do it. Guessing there may be a screw or bolt under the circular bit in the middle, how do I remove it? or any other ideas please!

Re: Broadway Hartal door
We had exactly the same- sounding problem with the bottom catch a year ago while in Spain. It was a broken spring.
Hartal and their agents were most unhelpful but we managed by clicking the catch back to the closed position every time until we returned to UK when AS replaced the spring.
Put Hartal Door Lock in the search box and there are several threads.
My OH, who has more hand- on experience with the blessed door, recommends you do not touch the U bolt as it is very difficult to get it back in exactly the right position.

Agree entirely.Quilter wrote:We had exactly the same- sounding problem with the bottom catch a year ago while in Spain. It was a broken spring.
Job for the dealer. Usual frustration: the spring costs pence; fitting it costs pounds (several).
