Nuevo ES mpg
I have a Nuevo ES with the Peugeot Euro 6 160 bhp engine. I bought it new in Jan 2018 and am sure it's a 2017 model. This is the bump above the driving cab version.
The milage seems to continually float around 28 or 30 mpg no matter how I drive it or the road conditions. I have spoken to many owners at the dealership with larger models who seem to get 30 to 35 mpg.
Can any other Nuevo ES or even EK owners give me an idea of the sort of MPG you are getting please. Kev

My euro 4 100bhp ES consistently gave 30mpg.

My 2015 Nuevo ES with bump on top, shows 24 to 26 mpg on speedo. My previous ES 2009 showed more around 28mpg.
I am going to check it out next weekend by filling and mileage , bit disappointed with mpg really. Its Euro 5 .

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
I have seen an average of 27mpg over 3,000 miles this year in our 2011 Neuvo 2 EK, the majority was fairly fast driving on French dual carriageways. This is on a Peugeot Boxer with 120 bhp 2.2 diesel.

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
30mpg from a 3.0 ltr diesel pulling upto 3.5t has to be pretty good, doesnt it.
my 150 bhp Euro 5 returns around 27-28 and im pretty happy with that.

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
The ES is as aerodynamic as a brick. So I think you're doing ok with a 160bhp to get 28 to 30.

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
over the last 2 years I’ve kept a log of mpg. In my Corinium 4 tonne chassis...and including towing a scooter trailer my average tops 29mpg...my best being 33mpg my worst over the Pyrenees 25/26 mpg.
This is the 160bhp hdiblue 2.0 ltr unit over 10,800 miles.
I’m fairly light footed and drive around 57mph just about 1800rpm.
I would hope to get a slightly higher average ...say 32+....in a smaller/ lighter vehicle but it depends on lots of variables, I’m guessing it’s got 15 inch wheels so maybe slightly lower gearing?

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
The mpg on the dash has settled on 35 mpg on my 2019 Nuevo. I definitely drive with a light right foot cruising speed 50 to 60 mph in 6 gear. I rarely exceed 60 mph.

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
I have exactly the same van & also average around 28 MPG. It's done 4k miles & may improve a bit once it's done a few more & loosened up. I don't exceed 60 & have also found that however I drive it, the consumption hardly varies.

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
Flash - that's quite a difference between yours and mine in an identical van. I can't believe our driving styles are that different. I always drive with empty or near empty water tanks but even that wouldn't account for a 7mpg difference. I wonder how accurate the dash readout is. I haven't tested it.

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
Out of curiosity I worked out the extra cost in fuel per 1,000 miles at a nominal £6 per gallon. For each extra 1 mpg it comes out at £8 (e.g. 27 mpg vs 28 mpg).

Have done about 7k in the EK..am averaging 34mpg. We are very near the M6 and most trips include motorway mileage

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
Caraman, is yours the EK ? Perhaps the big lump up top is the reason. I would imagine the LP is a lot more aerodynamic.

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
Flash - I didn't notice you had the Extra Seat version that goes with the extra bed in the luton lump over the cab. Mine is the two berth End Kitchen Low Profile version so that might account for some of the difference - a bit more aerodynamic and lighter.

Over 13,000 miles from new, our dashboard computer shows an average consumption of 26mpg. Ours is the NuevoES, with the 130bhp / 96kW Euro 5.5 engine.

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
That seems a small extra cost for most people who do very small total miles per year.pompeymike wrote:Out of curiosity I worked out the extra cost in fuel per 1,000 miles at a nominal £6 per gallon. For each extra 1 mpg it comes out at £8 (e.g. 27 mpg vs 28 mpg).
Those who use the motorhome for a car and do many trips in traffic will not notice any difference IMHO.

Re: Nuevo ES mpg
I get 32 mpg on my 2.2 Nuevo ES. It seems to like cruising at 65 as although it can go faster the mpg falls at 70mph. Mine has done 25k miles so you might find yours improves when it looses up a little?
