Strange rear view camera and cable
Hi,
I have already raised this question elsewhere in this Forum, but as its technical, I'll try here: I have a Trophy 1st used in Japan and fitted with a non standard rear-view camera outputting a cable having the usual red, black and yellow leads, and an additional thin RF shielded cable. This disappeared into the cabin walls and some-where was converted into a thicker cable, having the same leads, and ending in a 5 pin 360º DIN plug. There are screw holes on the dash for a monitor or GPS, but the plug lead is too short to reach up. There are however two trapezoidal holes cut in the bottom of the glove box, and the lead can reach in here. There are two heavy duty brackets mounted above the driver and passenger doors, and I am informed that some sort of 'radars' were fitted . The camera does not seem to give any output, iether from the green lead or the RF cable, so I am replacing it with a new camera. Has any one here any ideas. Sorry to keep asking this question, but I don't like a mystery!!!

Not sure if this will help but replace the camera cable when replacing the camera. Make sure that you run the cable away from any aerial cables there may run near by. I also came across an article recently concerning mounting the monitor whereby the vehicle failed its MOT due it 'obstructed the forward vision'leonardo1776 wrote:Hi,
