Cadac
We’re looking at investing in a Cadac, as we’ve coveted one for years and now have an outside gas point to connect one to. We’ve narrowed it down to 3 options, does anyone have a recommendation for which is best? What we’re after is something compact and easy (in the knowledge that no barbecue is without some difficulty) to clean.
Our top 3 are:
Safari Chef 2 (have noticed there’s a lite version, is that viable?)
Grillo Chef
2-Cook 2
Any advice appreciated

Re: Cadac
We have the Safari Chef 2. Use it at home and with the van. Have found it easy to use and clean so far.
At home we use a large Calor cylinder that we have from the days when we didn't have refillable tanks - you can get an adapter to attach via a piece of rubber tube to the regulator so the BBQ plugs in just like on the van.

Re: Cadac
When I bought the Nuevo with an external gas tap, we bought a Cadac Carri-Chef 2 BBQ. It was excellent - but heavy. After 2 years, I sold it on gumtree (snapped up) and bought a Cadac Chef 2. That suits us better: it's large enough to cook for 4 people, and amply so for 2; it's compact, and the legs are long enough to permit cooking whilst seated; it's very quick to assemble; the grill pan is small enough to be easily washed in a sink; it doesn't take up much payload; and it's extremely well made.

We have a Safari Chef 2 and find it is great for two people. Any more than two might be a struggle. It comes in a zip up bag and does not take up very much storage space.

I have the Cadac 2 cook 2 pro, the two hot plates are ideal for cooking mixed meals, I.e eggs on the flat plate and square sausage ,bacon on the ribbed plate. I have cooked up fillet steaks to a treat on the ribbed plate.
Much lighter than our previous safari chef, fits under the bench seat.for easy storage ( when cold )

I have the safari chef & love it. Not sure what light means but suspect it hasn’t got as many components, I love them all except the pizza stone.

Re: Cadac
Thanks for all the advice, we went for a Safari Chef 2 Lite. It was a lot cheaper than the non-lite version, the only difference seemingly is that it has a plancha plate (half grid half smooth) instead of a full size one of each, which appealed anyway regardless of the lower cost.
Just got to wait a couple more weeks till the van comes back to us & we’ll be putting it to the test soon afterwards.
