AutoSleeper SYMBOL 100 or 120 bhp
Hi
When I bought my Peugeot Symbol 2004 2.2 HDi I can't remember if it was a 100 or 120 bhp (Probably had stars in my eyes being my first van) . Is there any place on the van which tells if it is a 100 or 120.
Thank You

I think you need to look at the specification sticker somewhere on the van. There should be a long number something like 2D H DE 570******* It's the DE figure you need, if its DE it's a 100bhp , if its DG, it's 120bhp. I think thats right but theres a Peugeot expert member just joined who may know different.

Not sure if Pugeot have a similar site but with a Ford you can go into their site reg no or chassis no and it will give you vehicle data.
There is somewhere (free) on the DVLA that will give you your engine size but not sure if it gives HP, have you looked on your log book?

Not sure about the earlier models but my understanding is that with the X250’s the 2.3 and 3.0L are Fiat models but the 2.2L (100bhp) is actually a Ford masquerading as a Peugeot.

Re-Symbol 100 or 120
Hi Stewart.
I managed to get my engine details from my local Peugeot dealership in Scarborough, try your local dealership, the service manager should be able to help you if you provide the VIN number.

Hi
Thanks Forum Members for your help and info. I been googling to see if anything came up but nothing of any interest.
I have looked at the Registration Documents no bhp on there.
The Engine Number starts with a DZ ?.
Can't see any info in the engine compartment.
So it look like I need to contact the Peugeot service centre for more information.
Thank again

Re: AutoSleeper SYMBOL 100 or 120 bhp
I may be wrong but was always under the impression that on the old shape boxer the 2.0 hdi was around 85hp, the 2.2hdi was 100hp and the 2.8 was around 127hp.
As mentioned earlier the post 2007 models have different engines and power outputs with 5 and 6 speed gearboxes.

Hi
Thanks jt2011 you could right about 2.2 HDi 100bhp it may me thinking there are 120bhp for the 2004 year. Will have another search tomorrow to see if there any 120bhp for that year for sale.

Re: AutoSleeper SYMBOL 100 or 120 bhp
My previous van was a 2005 Symbol 2.0 HDI at 85 BHP. Took ages to overtake anything on a dual carriageway & quite slow pulling up steep hills. I got her remapped by Cartech of Rotherham up to 115 BHP and was as sweet as a nut

If you register with Peugeot Service Box and enter your VIN this should then provide the technical data for your engine and vehicle.
