Hello from Leicestershire
Hello. We are Andy and Kathy. We live in Lutterworth which is handily close to M1 junction 20. Our interests are walking and we just joined the National Trust. I have been an engineer for the last 47 years but was made unexpectedly retired in August last year . My main hobby is working on old cars - mainly Reliant Scimitars.
We sold our folding camper a couple of years ago because it was so heavy to move it was doing my back in and as we didn't have the boys at home any more, we didn't really need the space it provided any more. Now I am no longer working, we decided we might be able to get enough use from a Motorhome to justify the investment. After a lot of research, we went out to find an AS Symbol - and came back with a 1998 Clubman GL!
We have just returned from a 'shake-down' weekend in Cambridge which we enjoyed but - predictably - I now have a long list of jobs to do on 'Rowell' as we call her. First job: find out why the bed has been screwed down .
I hope I will be able to get some tips on techniques and suppliers on the forum. We plan another short trip to London in a week and then the main holiday in Devon in May.
I will be back soon to track down all you lovely Clubman people.

Hi used to be pally with a chap that was into Simitars, well his whole family was and in our tugging days rallied with them a few times. What a contrast a Volvo 240 Estate in the middle of a load of Simitars

Hi from the High Peak. A garage just down the road to Ashbourne used have a forecourt full of Scimitars, maybe you've dealt with them.

Welcome to the forum from another former Scimitar owner, a series 5a. Still do a bit of pottering on old cars, just to keep my hand in. Enjoy your Clubman.

The weekend in London has now become a weekend in Gloucester for that very reason! Trying to have a go at some of the cheaper end of the Thames path with big sis and brother-in-law in their Burstner.
Scimitars: Wherever I go I am never far from someone who used to own one or knows someone ..... etc. They made quite an impact in their day. Quite fitting then that the designer Tom Karen who is now in his 80s and the nicest bloke you could wish to meet got an OBE in this years honours list.
