Lincoln show
We've travelled over today and staying at C&CC THS at Epworth so we have a short run to the show tomorrow. The wind is horrendous here, van rocking quite severely at times, despite the blue skies and sun, the forecast for the weekend is not looking good with plenty of wind and rain to come.
M180 and M18 has very harsh cross winds and Humber bridge closed to high-siders. Take care.

Re: Lincoln show
Got here about 2 p.m., wind just started getting up and it’s been raining on and off. We were at Penrith yesterday so this is just a breeze. The forecast for the weekend is mainly dry but a bit gusty.
I’ll put my flags up tomorrow if the wind drops.

Often called the swamp? I wonder why! We’re just past the beekeeping hut and the clock tower.

Re: Lincoln show
Not windy this morning Margaret, but cold and, so far, dry.
Apparently quite a few traders shut up shop yesterday afternoon because of the weather.

Re: Lincoln show
Thanks for the replies, did go, but cold and turned wet later so came home, a stall holder was telling us that a few of the tents blew over yesterday, this was Atem Electronics, he is changing all the lights to LED`s in my Topaz next week, his firm is only a few miles from me.
A shame for the stall holders, no fun standing about in those conditions for days. Atem was going home today, they had had enough.
Looked a good show, did see the ukulele group at lunch time.

Lincoln MMM Show Mini Roundup
This is I think the 5th or 6th visit to the Lincoln show and I have to say that it was a little disappointing, there seemed to be a few regular accessorie traders missing with a few gaps around, perhaps they decided with the weather to give it a miss
Warner’s bill the show as come along and see some of next years models, I only saw ones from the Adria range
I think the show needs a injection of new ideas to liven it up.
The weather on the Thursday night was poor and not much better on the Friday (but that’s the luck of the draw) is been brilliant sunshine in north Staffs all this week and looks good for the weekend.
I was with the ASOC so met up with some fellow members we had met earlier in the year
As well as being a ASOC member I am a member of the Knaus Owners club (previous motorhome being a Knaus) and as we have many friends in the Knaus group we still rally with them.
On speaking to a number of them they also felt this had not been the best Lincoln Rally and May give it a miss for a while and try one of the new venues Stoneleigh or Shepton
Most members agreed that we all make them trip to Peterborough as this in my opinion there best show.

Re: Lincoln show
I'll agree with most of that. I didn't think there were too many stalls missing and actually thought there were more of the 'bits and pieces' stalls.
As for comparing with Shepton and Stoneleigh - Shepton is a fair bit smaller but we did enjoy it, especially the shuttle bus to Wells (have always loved Wells). Stoneleigh (didn't go this year because we weren't impressed last year) is a very large showground but with commercial units throughout there was public access and no security whatsoever. Also camping areas are very widespread making it a long walk to the entertainment and show area for some groups.
We have been to Lincoln show every year since starting motorhoming and will probably continue. We will also go to Peterborough next year, only time we went before was the year when thousands of units had to be tractored off due to the foot-deep mud.
As a slight aside, the Newark shows have now been discontinued (not run by Warners) due to change of organisers who basically didn't know how to run such events starting the downward spiral of less visitors, less traders, leading to less visitors and even less traders.

Re: Lincoln show
We enjoyed Lincoln but my husband thinks the shows are getting a bit “samey”, which is one reason we’ve only done the one this year. We thought the entertainment was good, though, the Tom Jones and Dusty tributes were excellent. Not sure I’d bother seeing Joe Pasquale again to be honest
