Hi. Just bought my first ever motor home.. .a Symbol. Have never camped or even had a mobile caravan, so this is a big step, and quite daunting. I love the layout of the van but there seems to be an AWFUL lot to learn...what with 12v/240v/gas/LPV/battery levels/water levels/grey water levels/fridge that needs a technical genius to understand/some things only working if van is moving/some things only working if plugged into mains/gearstick in 'wrong' place/hand brake in even 'wronger' place!!!!! However, I expect (hope)in a year's time I will look back at this post and smile indulgently!

Get it used now you have it, loads of nice sites in Ireland both side of the border. You should have a look at The Motorhome Craic site to pick up whats going on motorhome wise.

Welcome zeb, I'm with you 100% on this, its an absolute nightmare when you think about it, I have'nt found my "Ruby" yet (its like finding one in a mountain of rocks). Its a Symbol I want as well, I'm truly jealous. Don't be surprised if I never talk to you again

Hi Constan42
Beginning to fall in love with my Symbol! Have grasped the basics by now. Haven't powered up or gassed up yet, not watered up, but have cooked a meal and heated the water. Just about to spend my first night in it...overlooking a local beach. Do hope there are no knocks on the door at 3.00am...think I'd hide in the toilet!!
