Re: Tow bar
Who told you it needs extensive work?
The steadies may need to come off, but I'm pretty certain it's the same chassis fitting as ours, and the towbar simply bolts onto it.
I'm not sure what you mean by, "Was it a good idea?" If you want to tow anything I'd say it was a cracking idea!
Can you explain what you have in mind, then it may be possible to give a more reasoned reply.

Re: Tow bar
According to Watling Towbars the steadied have to be removed and chassis extensions added. Download the list from here...

Re: Tow bar
I meant does it cause any prob to the structure underneath. Extensive work came from the tow bar company in West Yorkshire by email with the quote.

Re: Tow bar
Cost me just £800 for a chap to come to my house, remove my steadies, supply and fit a proper Alco chassis towbar and dedicated electrics....took him about 3 hours and did a cracking job....

Beware the weight implications...
We have a 2016 Broadway fb es. As Paulmold says, Watling Engineering will say you need chassis extensions to fit a towbar. They told me it was because of the long rear overhang - and the whole thing would add 60-70kg (if I recall correctly) to the weight, seriously reducing our payload. If you haven't already done so, do open the bonnet and have a look at your plated weight allowances - we have zilch for towing. We gave up on towing and upgraded the suspension and tyres under the guidance of SV Tech.
The vehicle now takes more weight, but it is a hell of a job, though, getting that grand piano inside the vehicle!

Tow Bar
We have the Broadway EK! We went through all this rigmarole when deciding whether or not to have a tow bar. In the end we went the Lincoln Towbars in Branston near Lincoln. Gave the the exact model and they ordered the towbar, when it arrived it had the holes already drilled for the steadies at no extra cost.
