Re: Search for sites website
I've been advocating that site for ages - ever since I heard about it on this forum.
There are even some sites which I have submitted

I wasn't having a go! I apologise if you thought I was.
I was just backing up what you were saying about the site.

Re: Search for sites website
I know Frank has mentioned the site before but I’ve never actually looked at it. I’ve just registered and am very impressed. It’s easy to negotiate and gives plenty of information.
Thanks for the link Oddsnends!

Re: Search for sites website
Love it, thanks for the info!
I always thought the best test of these sites is to look locally and see how accurate they are, this one is excellent from first impressions and covers all the places near to us.
Will certainly be signing up!

Re: Search for sites website
It's accuracy comes from the fact that many of the sites are put there by contributors who have used the sites, rather than some anonymous body picking them from a list.groundhog wrote:I always thought the best test of these sites is to look locally and see how accurate they are, this one is excellent from first impressions and covers all the places near to us.

Although it originated this way, the contributors have made the site what it is today.

Thanks Matt and Frank
I think the mobile version could be particularly useful if you want to find a good site for the night - and it seems to include just about every category of stopover.

Yes, thanks for giving the link again. It's very useful, including lots of smaller sites but I did notice a couple of the places we've used are not listed. We'll use it in conjunction with the other search sites though

Re: Search for sites website
The idea is that you if you know of somewhere that isn't listed, them you contribute it to the site. Also, if you have visited one of the sites listed, give a review of it. Not everyone sees a site in the same light, so differing opinions are very valuable.Askit wrote: but I did notice a couple of the places we've used are not listed.

Re: Search for sites website
Hi Frank
It says there's a problem finding my location. It's no great issue, but is there something I'm missing. I have registered.
Edit: Ah - Got it working now thanks. I deleted cookies and re-started. It can find me now . . . well, it gets close!

Thanks again Matt and Frank!
Have joined just need to earn my 1000 points to download to satnav but that should be easy enough with a few reviews! This is exactly the sort of site we all need and as long as it doesn't get out of hand a great addition to the directories.

How true, Frank. We’ve just left a site with excellent reviews but we hated it. I always try to leave reviews objectively.boxerman wrote:The idea is that you if you know of somewhere that isn't listed, them you contribute it to the site. Re: Search for sites website
Great site... was on a site yesterday in New Quay , found through the site search. . was ok. . Was originally going to stay tonight but after a fairly lengthy drive checked the site again. .. found a good looking site in Fishguard...Drive on and it has spectacular views... great find. . This is what i am loving about owning a motorhome. . The spontaneity of just upping sticks and following your nose...
