ASOC Rally Next Week
Any of you going on the ASOC Rally at Whitemead next week? Bring lots of warm clothing additional heating. Currently only water supply not frozen. Think we will leave Saturday instead of Monday

Re: ASOC Rally Next Week
Sat and Sun light snow and freezing. Monday a light breeze and a balmy +5 deg.
Feb 2006 we pitched up on the Monday, it snowed overnight and for the rest of the week but temperatures just hovered around zero so everything worked.
The beauty of this site at this time of year is the on site restaurant, very near pub, heated swimming pool and free wifi - I wonder why its so hard to get on the ASOC rally - is the CSMA one oversubscribed as well?
PS Chris and I will be there next week.

I've found new tehnology that would aid propulsion. Not expensive but not the game so I've been working on strengthening my throw- putting more weight in the whisky glass!&KENNJEN wrote:Yes Peter a very popular rally ,we’ve also been there in the snow it just adds to what is a very enjoyable time at Whitemead . Re: ASOC Rally Next Week
We were at Whitemead last year, pitched up on The Dell (lower site area).
As we arrived back on site after our bike ride, I thought I clocked quite a few A/S 'vans.
Cycling around the Meadow (being nosey) I couldn't believe how many A/S's there were until it dawned on me it must be a rally.
Finally spoke to one chap who enlightened me as to what was going on.
When we bought our Nuevo, one of our first stops was at Whitemead (December 2010) and it froze solid. The site staff recorded minus 12. The only running water was in what was the laundry room, so we were immensely glad of the swimming pool and hot showers in there.
We've since been there six times and it's frozen every single time!

We met Roli last year, and very much enjoyed a couple of chats - but we were sitting outside on the deck chairs at the time. You lot are tougher than me to brave this weather!!Mrs ploppy wrote:P.s just met ROLI

If you could see it you would understand (in parts 8” snow). I suspect unless things change a lot some won’t get off here

Re: ASOC Rally Next Week
I think that was the main concern - getting you off before we arrived. Apparently the road out of the site is blocked?

Re: ASOC Rally Next Week
Shame its cancelled but I am not surprised as its still snowing heavy and the wind is drifting it in this part of the west.

Pity it's been cancelled as I was champion three years ago. Would have looked forward to the challenge.

Should come to Sunny but 'cool' Wigtownshire, or at least the Rhinns!
Last few days while Yous all have been surrounded by Snaw we here have had NONEish.
And as the wind was from the east, so blowing into the rear of the garage we decided to de clutter it.
Only able to be out there for about an hour or so before extremities were dropping off, so four sessions per day inter-spaced with trips to the coup and hot drinks indoors. (mine 'Special' coffee)
Have fun all those away and commiserations to those whose trip is cancelled.

Tempting as your offer to declutter your garage is Frederick, I think I'll stick with my original plan to rearrange my sock drawer. At the very least it will be warmer.

We've come to Bowness instead. A few light showers but windless and very pleasant.
