Name this part
Is anyone able to identify this part?
I would say it is solid brass.
It came in the cup holder of my 2017 Warwick Duo. I asked the dealer rep during handover and he told me it was for refilling the LPG.
After refiling the LPG today, I know it isn't. Or at least I doubt it.

I'm starting to think it's for the external gas point on the left at the rear. I'll check it tommorow.

I name that part Bernard de Bayonet.
Actually it's as you thought - it's an LPG bayonet connector - I bought one only a few days ago as the Argon supply on my welder uses the same fitting!

Re: Name this part
When I saw the title I thought we had turned all poetical ,as in:
Today we have naming of parts. Yesterday,
We had daily cleaning. And tomorrow morning,
We shall have what to do after firing. But to-day,
Today we have naming of parts. Japonica
Glistens like coral in all of the neighbouring gardens,
And today we have naming of parts.
Takes me back to school.....

ZAlso learnt that one at school....coincidently, mentiond by Fred Thursday at the end of Endeavour this week (set on an army camp).
It might have been the Upper Sling Swivel..

I wondered what Fred was saying. I didn't realise it was well known.bolero boy wrote:ZAlso learnt that one at school....coincidently, mentiond by Fred Thursday at the end of Endeavour this week (set on an army camp).

Fairly sure its the adaptor for the external BBQ point, but, as mine is superglued closed (don't ask) I can't check!

No wonder you didn't have much of a clue about topping up with LPG Don, if that's the quality of the advice you were given!!AutoSleepyDon wrote:Is anyone able to identify this part?

Are you sure you didn't mis-hear what he said - nobody in the trade could be that daft! Could they???

Re: Name this part
On my hand-over I asked how to lower the corner steadies. I was told he didn't think the Nuevo had them but to be sure, he crawled on the floor and checked. Sure enough the Nuevo didn't have them (he said). They must have grown on the way home as I found them when I looked.Gromit wrote:Are you sure you didn't mis-hear what he said - nobody in the trade could be that daft! Could they???

He must have looked under our van by mistake Dave.
Ours doesn't have them. (I asked for them not to be fitted as I knew we were getting a tow bar.)

Thanks guys.
I just offered it up and it is a fit.
Can I ask, if I open the red tap, will gas start to come out?
I ask because there is no lock on the cover.

Re: Name this part
Depends on the type of fitting, but it probably won't let gas out until that little connector is fully inserted.
Try it if you really want to know.

Re: Name this part
Hi Don
The brass fitting you pictured should be fitted into the end of the tube leading to your gas BBQ. This allows the tube to connect into your external BBQ gas point. If I recall correctly the red tap should only be capable of being turned on to allow gas to flow when the brass fitting is inserted into the tap, so as long as you don't leave the fitting in there, the tap shouldn't be able to be turned on. That's why there's no lock needed on the cover. Obviously if leaving the van unattended for any length of time, it's also a good idea to turn off the gas valve on the bottle, which presumably is in a locked cupboard.
