"Vince" and me, signing in!
Hello, just a quick line to introduce myself - I'm a thirty something Essex girl living in Yorkshire and loving it. Two years ago I bought my beloved 1989 Peugeot Talbot Autosleeper "Vince" on Ebay, and since then have never looked back. We are in the best part of the world for weekends away, with the coast, the Moors and Dales all on our doorstep. Usually I take Vince away on my own, sometimes my husband comes along for the walking opportunities, but I never travel without my two dogs who love the van as much as I do, and know when I take the keys off the hook that another adventure is coming. Buying the van was the best thing I ever did, and when people ask if I have a dub I get very indignant and point out that I have the BEST van, thanks very much.
Vince is mechanically sound and has sailed through a couple of MOTs but is starting to look a little tired/rust creeping in, so any maintenance tips from experts gratefully received.
Thanks for having me in your forum and I look forward to getting to know you.
Jen

It just seemed like a suitably solid 80s name - I don't know, it really suits him! It's friendly, but no nonsense. Does everyone name their campers or am I eccentric?!

Thanks Boaby,
I'd like to head down to your neck of your woods when the weather permits (and the winds won't blow me to Holland!) Any decent little sites Brid/Flamborough way?

Hi Jen
Plenty of sites, if your in the Caravan club, there's a new site open on the Flamborough road, some smaller sites in that area, check out UK campsites online.
good site at Filey Brigg, good runs for dogs along the cliffs and county park, we go there for away days most weeks and have a permit for the parking.
have fun.

These old Talbot Expresses scrub up well, I know a few that have some loving care done and one in particular just looks the same today as it did when it left Willersey all those years ago. Stuff like new wings are easy to get

Hello & welcome from S/Yorks
I'll second the nice council run site on the cliff top at Filey-Brigg, we go quite often & 'walk the brigg'

Hi Jen
Welcome from Kent. Love Yorkshire, must visit again soon, some of the finest beaches on the East coast.
Yes I think most of us name our 'vans. Could be the start of a new topic!
Good luck with 'Vince'
