Gas burner Empty Gas burner

Post by greycaster Sun Oct 15, 2017 3:55 pm

Hi, I have a Autosleepers Warwick XL. I am just wondering if my grill is working ok. It seems to be ok at each end but there is very little flame in the middle, is this a fault? It's the first bar in the picture the rear bar is just a reflection.

That's the normal flame pattern.

The grill in my 2017 Warwick Duo is just the same. The jets in the middle looked like they are blocked so I understand your concern but it burns toast just as evenly as any other grill I have used to burn toast on.

I have a question. When using the hobs, are the hobs supposed to extinguish when you close the cover/lid?
Mine don't, they did on my last MH (a 2002 symbol).

No, should be a notice saying extinguish all burners cool before lowering lid, I smashed a glass lid . I had closed it and in a hurry sat down to dinner and bang, glass everywhere, my fault, never have done it since.

expensive mistake

Gas burner Empty Re: Gas burner

If you only want a quick cuppa when travelling (and the Thermos is empty) then - after boiling just enough in the kettle  -  it can be frustrating if you have to wait for the hob burner to cool before you can safely lower the glass cover.

It speeds up cooling if you rinse out the kettle with cold water, and then add some cold water to it and replace it on the cooling hob to absorb the latent heat.

Thanks for the replies, yes my grill also makes good toast. I was just worried there was a problem.
