Hello from total novices
Hi from West Wales. Hubbie and are both in our mid sixties and have just become the proud owners of our very first motor home a 1988 Ford Transit T120 automatic Auto Sleeper Legend. She is called Betty. She may be old and ancient, but has been well loved and cared for and partly refurbished.
The previous owners suggested that as we are total novices we might find this forum full of helpful tips and advice and I am sure they are right. I am creative, hubbie is excellent at DIY and a whizz with motorcycle engines, but neither of us know anything about motorhomes. We feel a steep learning curve coming.
We'd love to hear from anyone else with a Legend... I believe they kept the same layout for many years.

Hello and welcome to this most friendly and informative forum. We have all been novices and most of us are still learning. There are well learned experts here who collectively solve most problems.

Legend!
Hi there and welcome!
We are also in our 60's and have just (last night) driven home to Tamworth from Yorkshire with a 1991 Ford Transit 2.5 Diesel Automatic Autosleeper Legend:hugegrins: Baptism of Fire that was but Phil got us all home safely!
First motorhome. Excited but a bit scary!
First job has been to get her booked in for electric power steering conversion next week with Chris in Stratford!

Re: Hello from total novices
Hi there and thanks for the welcome.
Nice to meet a fellow Transit Legend owner
'Betty' hasn't yet put in an appearance... we are hoping to have her delivered this weekend. We thought that driving the old girl from Yorkshire home to West Wales might be a bit too much of an experience for us on our first trip. So we are waiting on a man with a transporter! We live up a narrow single track lane, so have fingers crossed for her safe arrival
We have power steering, but only a 2.0 petrol engine... which can also run on LPG. The mind boggles!!

Ooooh.Exciting! Don't blame you on the transporter. We were certainly glad to get home in one piece.
.We were undecided re petrol/diesel but this one was in the better condition. I believe the petrol engines are very good.
Good luck with your special delivery!
