Once you know the bulb type it should be easy - for example I've replaced W5W type bulbs on the Trooper and the result has been good, generally.
You won't need so-called CANbus types (with special expensive resistor added!).
Similarly with festoon type bulbs - LED replacements are very widely available, though you need to get the length pretty well exactly right with those.

Why would you want to "upgrade" marker light? Not for battery drain, as you would only be using them with engine power. The lights on my Gloucester are Hella not Joken, I think.

Alan suggests (in "the field that nobody sees", and which I did not notice until just now) that the bulbs have caused the holders to overheat - presumably damaging them. It's true that an LED replacement will probably run a lot cooler, unless it's a so-called "CANbus" type, in which case it will have a resistor inside so that it consumes as much power (and generates as much heat) as a 3W filament bulb!

Hi Mojo
you are correct the bulb holders have gone hard and brittle,I tend to run with my side lights on all the time as I am towing a trailer and I can see the rear marker lights and yes the bulbs get very hot
regards

Hi , forgot to add, the first ones I bought were too long, that's why I fitted the flat fronted cob led bulbs
