Nuevo Dab radio reception
KI'm curious about the reception on my 2016 Nuevo DAB radio. I find the reception hit and miss once we travel any distance. Is this normal?
Thanks
Pete

Hi Pete
We have a 2016 Nuevo and the radio reception seems pretty good. We've been happy with it and have not experienced any annoying problems. Hope this helps.

Re: Nuevo Dab radio reception
What you're describing is simply the problem with DAB radio in general.
The signal has 'dead spots' as you travel, and in the best situations you'll experience a brief drop out for a second or so as the signal drops, possibly due to changing over to a different transmitter (not sure on this), but in some weaker areas you could lose it altogether.
The beauty of a digital signal is the range of stations and quality of the sound, however the problem is it's an all or nothing signal. So where FM the reception might drop slightly but you can still get away with it, with DAB it simply drops out altogether.
I went away to the Suffolk coast last weekend. Was listening to DAB until I got around mid-Suffolk and then had to switch to FM as there just wasn't any signal at all.

Re: Nuevo Dab radio reception
I'm in agreement with the findings of Greyhound.
I have a number of both cars and motorhomes with fitted DAB radio and they all have the same problems when you are on the move.
Even when parked up the DAB signal can still disappear.
I gave up at home with DAB at home even with expensive DAB receivers and professionally fitted aerials
At home I listen to radio via the internet now through the house Wifi
and even sometimes in the Motorhome if there is a internet signal
DAB in theory is great when it works
