Howdy
Hi,
Newbie here and fairly new to Autosleepers and campervans in general. Last year we retired and decided to buy a campervan/motorhome. A number of years ago we hired a Motorhome in Calgary, Canada and toured the parks in the Rockies, we really enjoyed it so decided that when we retired we would look at getting one of our own.
After much investigating we decided to go for a VW Autosleeper Clubman GL, we found a 1996 2.4L at a reasonable price and went for it. Last year we took it around the North Coast 500, up the East coast of Scotland to John o'Groats, across to the Durness and back down the West coast and finally back down and across to Fife where we stay. Haven't done much this year yet but have been busy doing some essential maintenance and upgrading.
Last year before touring, I fitted a dual rearview camera system and installed an inverter into the 240v system, I also wired an external connection for a freeview satellite dish. This year I fitted a new camshaft cover, the original was leaking oil, and fitted in a new sound system which has Bluetooth.
I have a few technical issues and when googling for answers I found this forum which looks great, I'll post these up in the appropriate sections later. In the meantime, very happy to have found this site and wish you all happy travelling :-)

Re: Howdy
I'd be interested in your choice of reversing camera, it's a project that I shall be doing at some point in time!
Welcome to this great site too.

Thanks all for your kind replies. Apologies for taking so long to acknowledge them, things have been a bit hectic the past couple of months.
Anyway, Dave if you're still interested in my choice of reverse/back camera I'll open a new thread in the appropriate forum and post up some info and pictures tomorrow. It has made a big difference for us, now you can watch everyone queue up behind youÂ
