Hello, my handle is Little Al (no guesses as to why). We are Alan and Maria Banks from Hawes in Upper Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. We have previously had tents, caravan, folding camper and motorhomes. Our recently acquired unit is a Duetto 1997 on a Ford Transit long wheel base. We have not done much camping for a few years because my wife has had horses, unfortunately our last horse has recently passed away so we have decided we can again start touring. We previously had a Duetto from new in 1997 and really loved it (especially for use on the dales narrow lanes, and ability to park). The Duetto we found was a private sale from a chap who unfortunately do to health reasons had found it necessary to give up motor-homing. It has only done 53K miles, but it does have a few problems which I am tackling. Before retiring I was a chartered building services engineer and so I like getting stuck into repairs, maintenance and modifying to our requirements. The main problem with the Duetto is the Carver P4 blown air heater, from the posts on this website it appears to be the main control unit attached to the actual heater that is at fault, so it looks like I will need to send it to ARC for repair. Just at the moment we are not able to hit the road because Maria has just had a knee replacement and I have damaged my shoulder falling off a step ladder whilst cleaning the roof of the Duetto!!!
